These are words Chadia Felix lives by. Before you get carried away, the 25-year-old was talking about the way she lets her personality shine through on a daily basis.

Chadia is the type who likes trying everything at least once. She lives for a challenge and knows how to make herself stand out in a crowd. Her come hither smile is contagious and her confidence is hard to miss when she’s in her promo girl role with Spektakular Promotions. A performer at heart, (dance) Chadia loves putting smiles on the faces of friends, family and even people she doesn’t know. The Bocage resident stands out because of her cheerful persona and outgoing nature.

STAR: How did you get involved with Spektakular Promotions?

Chadia: Christina actually joined my dance troop Miracle Family and she told me about the promotion group. That was about five years ago. I’m into everything so I tried it.

STAR: From working in an office, to promo girl, what’s the transition like?

Chadia: I see myself as two different people. In the office I’m strictly professional and on the outside there’s a complete transformation. You still see me because I am who I am but on the outside I’m more jovial, I’m more me. It’s the lighter side of me.

STAR: How do you deal with guys hitting on you with what you do?

Chadia: You have to be so careful. People tend to mistake good manners for love. [laughs] I’m very friendly, always the life of the party. If I see it’s going too far I lay it down immediately, hey, this is what it is. There are guys who just want to be friends. They like your personality and they don’t mind hanging out with you.

STAR: Is dance something you want to pursue?

Chadia: When I just started I really did. I was almost prepared to go to this huge workshop in Jamaica but then something came up and I didn’t end up going. My heart and soul are still into dance. I’d like to go further but I have other plans I’d like to pursue careerwise.

STAR: What are your aspirations?

Chadia: Right now I’m on a good stride. I’m going forward and in a couple years I’d like to have my own business. I’m really working towards that. I have a degree in business management from Monroe, St Lucia and before I even go into managing my own, I’d like to pursue project management and marketing.

STAR: What’s your advice for young people who are not so optimistic about the future?

Chadia: I think young people should honestly look at the bigger picture. Let’s not be small-minded. Educate yourself. Experience brings knowledge. Take your time, go through life slowly, life is not a rush. We always live. It’s how you live.
