Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Honourable Stephenson King, has officially expressed his sadness at the loss of Mr. Rosemond W. James, Director General of the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA), and Mr. Gregory A. McAlpin, Director of Flight Safety of the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority ECCAA.

The two were in Haiti and were unaccounted for since the earthquake that struck the country on January 12, 2010.

The prime minister spoke highly of Mr. Rosemond James' contribution, noting that Saint Lucia is saddened by such a tragic loss of a son of the soil.

“I believe for us in Saint Lucia the loss of Mr. Rosemond James is a severe blow for a man who served not only Saint Lucia, but the region, at the OECS level, as director of civil aviation. On that occasion, he was actually engaged in one of his regular missions—a meeting to discuss aviation matters in Haiti.”

The prime minister conveyed his condolence to the families, colleagues and friends impacted by the tragedy.

A statement from ECCAA dated 23rd of February, indicated that although the bodies were identified based on their jewellery and their drivers' permits, secondary confirmation through a laboratory identification process would be conducted by the end of this week; when this is completed, the repatriation process will take place.

The statement added that the ECCAA wishes to express its deepest condolences to the families of two deceased.

The National Council on Public Transportation is sticking to its guns on the option of firearms to safeguard bus drivers amid increasing crime and violence on the island. Security was the major concern when operators met for an Executive meeting on Thursday. And while the lobby is exploring the use of private security firms the acquisition of licensed firearms for qualifying drivers remains on the table. NCOPT

President Godfrey Ferdinand believes firearms can act as a deterrent to crime. The NCOPT is also examining hiring off-duty police officers, imploring surveillance cameras and are looking at the merits of the cashless payment system suggested by Transport Minister Guy Joseph. But apart from crime and violence the bus drivers are worried about many other issues including deteriorating roadways they say the authorities have failed to address in a timely manner. Ferdinand says the council will soon issue an ultimatum to government on the burning issues. He warns of dire consequences if the council’s concerns are not dealt following what he calls exhaustive negotiations.

Thursday’s meeting of the National Council was attended by the executive members of the respective bus associations who belong to the umbrella body. Ferdinand says another meeting has been planned to decide the next step in the ongoing negotiations between the NCOPT and the authorities.

Last week, America tuned into "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" to watch Jake Pavelka and his final three bachelorettes be whisked away to the legendary island of Saint Lucia for their destination dates.

Next week, the romance continues as Jake and his two remaining bachelorettes explore more of the lush island on the season finale of Season 14, a two-hour episode airing Monday, March 1 at 8 pm ET.

Awarded "World's Leading Honeymoon Destination" for the past several years by the World Travel Awards, Saint Lucia is the ideal setting for the season finale. It is now time for the bachelor to make his final choice by potentially proposing to one of the remaining two bachelorettes. Watch the two couples discover new romance by basking under the Caribbean sun, sailing into a champagne sunset, and cuddling beneath the starry sky.

"Saint Lucia is known for its natural beauty and diverse attractions, making it perfect for couples looking to honeymoon, get married or simply getaway," said Louis Lewis, Director of Tourism for Saint Lucia. "It gives Saint Lucians great joy to have a show about romance, love and happiness featured on our island."

Jake's Journey for Love

Arc De Ciel, a wonderful five-bedroom resort between the Pitons, is where the final two bachelorettes meet Jake's family. The Pitons, located in the picturesque southwest of the island, are the iconic symbol of Saint Lucia and one of the most recognizable landmarks in the Eastern Caribbean.

Jake and Tenley will sail the clear, warm waters of Saint Lucia's west coast on Kingdom Yachts, while taking in the white sand beaches lined with gently swaying palms and the dramatic volcanic topography.

After their sail, they will spend a night in a stunning new luxury villa nestled within in the embrace of the island's World-Heritage listed Pitons at The Jalousie Plantation resort. Established on more than 100 acres of magnificent rainforest, The Jalousie Plantation is without question set in one of the most spectacular and romantic locations in the world - the Valley of the Pitons.

Jake and Vienna will also explore the Sulphur Springs, which is situated at one of the world's few drive-in volcanoes near the town of Soufrière. The couple will end the romantic date by checking into a suite at Anse Chastanet, a 600-acre estate with two beaches. Tropical weather, welcoming accommodations, and unexpected adventures await the couple taking this trip.

Who Will He Choose at Jade Mountain?

After the final dates, will Jake choose Tenley or Vienna? In this emotional special conclusion, Jake prepares to make one of the most difficult choices of his life. His search for love is now narrowed down to two very different women and he is falling in love with both of them.

Jade Mountain is a luxury resort built on the side of a mountain, rising majestically above the beachfront resort of Anse Chastanet. This award-winning resort is a cornucopia of organic architecture, celebrating the island's stunning scenic beauty, and offers one of the world's most mesmerizing experiences.

With the fourth wall entirely absent, Jade Mountain's sanctuaries are stage-like settings where one can embrace the full glory of Saint Lucia's Pitons, and of course, the Caribbean Sea.
